In the early 1930s, Colonel Sidney Culverwell Oland acquired more than an acre of land behind Lindola and built a three-car garage with greenhouse and upstairs apartment for the chauffeur.
The garage was designed in keeping with the style of Lindola by the architectural firm of S.P. Dumaresq, who also drew up plans, never carried out, for an extensive addition to the house on Young Avenue.
